Scornovacca's Urbandale (Restaurant & Bakery)

Just tried this place for the first time through DoorDash. I waited far too long!!! The cavatelli w/ meat sauce was super flavorful and very hearty. The buffalo wings were far better than I would have ever expected out of an Italian restaurant. Even the side salads w/ the creamy Romano were way above average. Will totally be ordering more from here. Can't wait to try the pizza.

The food was excellent, I've had the Scorno’s Original Italian Grinder it was fantastic, and have to say, best onion rings I've had, not greasy at all, and were super crunchy, my dad had the spaghetti and meatballs and absolutely loved it, the staff were super friendly, and I had to take some of the homemade deserts home after the meal, and they are all so tasty. 10/10 and will go back again for sure, and is officially in our rotation for eating out.

We are excited that there is a Scornovacca’s in Urbandale now. We used to go to the Scornovacca’s in Des Moines which is a 20 minute drive. Our drive is now 2 minutes. We ordered fried cauliflower, pepperoni pizza, and cavatelli with meatballs. The food and service were excellent. We will be coming back here to eat again.

Scornovacca's is IMO the best pizza in central Iowa. I was so glad when they added the Urbandale location. The Combo is delicious and so is the Deluxe. We usually get takeout. This is our go to place when we want delicious pizza.

The pizza here is fantastic! We ordered a large sausage- mushroom for ourselves and our daughter had a small pepperoni. The thin crust on the large was amazing! The small pizza has a bit chewier crust but was just as good! The sauce and toppings on both pizzas was very tasty and it was cooked to perfection! The service was just right for us, we're not big on chatting up the wait staff, so we appreciated our server, friendly and efficient! The ambience was a bit meh, but we did discover something playing on one of the TVs called the Savannah Bananas baseball team.... think the Harlem Globetrotters playing baseball All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience, we all walked out commenting on how much we enjoyed the pizza!

It's a nice place to come and have a cup of coffee and a cannoli, at least that's what I planned on doing but then I ended up getting a loaf of mozzarella bread, love drops, a breakfast sandwich, two lunch sandwiches, a chocolate chip scone and finally two cannolis it was a hit with the family, we loved the flavors. The inside gives a small Iowa cafe vibe, with a glass showcase for their baked goods and corrugated metal covering the bottom half of the seating area.

I’m seeing some low ratings on here, but that was not my experience. Fantastic pizza, great crust, tasty sauce, delicious toppings, perfect cheese. Best pizza in Urbandale and will be ordering again soon. Thank you to the staff and cooks, this pizza hit the spot. Get the Combo well done with a side salad with creamy Romano dressing. 10/10 , yum yum.

Recommended. Above average pizza. Thinner crust with the right amount of crunch. The sauce and toppings were commendable. Only got a to-go pie, but staff was friendly and helpful. I would return. Malto bene.
